Chris Upton is an award winning photographer from Southwell, Nottinghamshire. His passion is Landscape and Travel photography and his work has been published in many books and magazines. He is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, was Highly Commended in the 2007 Wanderlust Travel Photography competition and, in 2008, was commissioned to photograph in Thailand on behalf of the Tourism Authority.

"To be honest I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler! Consequently photography has enabled me to express my creativity which would otherwise have lain dormant.

Photography has long been a keen interest but over the past few years it has become a passion. Whilst I have had success in many areas of photography it is really Landscape and Travel that I enjoy the most.

I photograph throughout the UK but have also visited some great locations around the world. The opportunity to visit magical places, meet the people and witness their culture has been a wonderful experience in itself. My goal is always to capture some of that that feeling in my images.

It was Dorothea Lange who said “the camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera” and how true that is. I work hard at looking for images and composing for impact, often preferring a simple, occasionally minimalist, design in my pictures.

Capturing the images I have selected for the Masters of Vision Exhibition has certainly been inspiring for me, I hope that you enjoy them too".
